            This Indenture Made the thirteenth Day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty three between Jofeph Curtis of the Townfhip of Bethlohom in the County of Hunterdon and State of New Jerfey of the one part and Stacy Potts of Trenton in the County Aforesaid of the other part Witnefseth that the said Jofeph Curtis for and in confideration of the sum of two hundred and ninety nine Pounds seventeen Shillings and four Pence current Gold and silver money to him in hand paid by the said Stacy Potts the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged and thereof and every part thereof he the said Jofeph Curtis doth hereby Acquit Releafe and discharge the said Stacy Potts his Heirs Executors Administrators and Afsigns for ever by thefe Prefents hath Granted Bargained and sold and by thefe presents doth Grant Bargain and Sell Enfeof Releafe Convey and Confirm unto the said Stacy Potts his Heirs and Afsigns for ever One certain Lott or piece of Land Situate in the Townfhip of Bethlehem aforefaid whereon the said Jofeph Curtis now dwels Bounded as follows Begining at a heap of Stones forty three Links distant from a marked Chestnut Tree in the Line of Aaron Watfon’s (Watson’s) Land and runs from thence South eighty seven Degrees West seven Chains to a small Bufh and a Stone for a Cornor in the aforesaid Line thence South four Degrees forty Minutes West two Chains and seventy three Links to a heap of Stones near the Mill Dam thence North eighty nine Degrees East seven Chains and forty three Links to a heap of Stones near the great Road thence North three Degrees West three Chains and twenty three Links to the place of Begining containing two Acres of Land together with all and singular the Mines Minerals Ways Waters Woods Fifhings (Fishings) Fowlings Hawkings Huntings Rights Royalties Proffits Comodities Hereditraments and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wife Appertaining And all the Estate Right Title Interest ufe Pofsefsion Property Claim and Demand whatfoever either in Law or Equity of him the said Jofeph Curtis his Heirs or Afsigns To Have and to Hold the above defcribed Lott of Land with the Houfes Buildings Tanyard and every Improvement thereon unto him the Said Stacy Potts his Heirs and Afsigns forever to the only proper Ufe benefit and behoof of him the Said Stacy Potts his Heirs and Afsigns forever and the said Jofeph Curtis for himself his Heirs & Afsigns doth Covenant promife and agree to and with the said Stacy Potts his Heirs & Afsigns by thefe prefents that he the said Jofeph Curtis at the time of the Enfealing and delivery hereof hath in himfelf good Right Lawful and abfolute Authority to grant Bargain and Sell the above defcribed Lott of Land with the Appurtenances unto the Said Stacy Potts his Heirs and Afsigns in manner above mentioned and that the said Stacy Potts shall and may at all times hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold Occup (Occupy) pofsefs and Enjoy the above defcribed Lott of Land with the Appurtenances without any Lawful Lett Interruption or hinderance of him the said Jofeph Curtis his Heirs or Afsigns or any other perfon claiming by from or under him them or any of them Provided neverthelefs and it is the true Intent and meaning of thefe Prefents that if the said Jofeph Curtis his Heirs Executors and Adminiftrators or either of them shall well and truly pay or caufe to be paid unto the said Stacy Potts his Heirs Executors Adminiftrators or Afsigns the sum of one hundred and fifty Pounds one Shilling and nine Pence current Gold or Silver Money together with the Interest thereof agreable to the Condition of two certain Bonds or Obligations the one bearing Date the sixteenth Day of January one thoufand seven hundred and seventy six and the other the third Day of March one thoufand seven hundred and eighty three then this prefent Indenture to become null and void any thing herein contained to the contrary thereof in any wife notwithftanding In Witnefs whereof the said Jofeph Curtis hath to thefe prefents set his hand and Seal the Day and Year above written-
