Federal census records for the city are available for 1830,
    1840, 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930.  Census data for New Jersey was lost for the
    years 1790 thru 1820 and 1890.  In
1830, the current area of the city of Trenton was divided between Hunterdon
    and Burlington Counties.
State censuses were done between federal surveys starting in 1855,
unfortunately returns for Trenton are only available for 1885, 1895, 1905
    and 1915.

The following maps show the political boundaries of Trenton through the nineteenth
century. They come from a 1964 thesis about Trenton from Jessie Rose Turk.
